We’re glad you’ve chosen to visit Western Branch Community Church! WBCC may look like a big place, but it’s made up of people just like you. The only thing we ask of you is simple: relax. Whatever your circumstances—single, married, single again, with or without children—and no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, you matter to God and you matter to us.
What are the services like?
One of the most unique features about Western Branch Community Church is that we are committed to provide every generation with a worship experience and teaching ministry that is relevant to their time of life. That means:
- Our Adult (30-somethings and up) worship services (Sundays at 9:00 & 10:45 a.m. in Auditorium 1) feature contemporary Christian music and Biblical messages that deal with topics like a healthy body and soul, family wish lists, workplace stresses, and finding financial freedom.
- Our 17:17 (18 to 20-somethings) worship service (Sundays at 7:17 p.m. in Auditorium 2) uses guitar driven, cutting-edge worship and Biblical messages that address issues like finding God's purpose for life, getting to know who God really is, biblical foundations for dating, college and career decisions.
- Our XZILR8 Teen (7th-12th grade) worship service (Sundays at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m.in Auditorium 2) is an awesome service for the teens. Upbeat music and Biblical teaching specifically tailored for the needs of teenagers.
- Our Kids on the Rock (birth through 6th grade) ministries (Sundays at 9:00 a.m., and 10:45 a.m.) feature cutting-edge techniques including music, multimedia and interactive play to communicate the timeless message of Jesus Christ.
Services typically last about an hour and fifteen minutes. We begin by worshipping God together in song and prayer, greeting one another, then listening to the message for the week. We even provide a sermon outline to help you remember key points of the sermon, and the Bible verses that support them.
What should I wear?
When you visit Western Branch Community Church, you'll see that it's all about being comfortable, casual, and taking away a message rather than taking away the latest fashion tips. Most people wear blue jeans or khakis … even shorts during the summer! We have found that when we dress formally, we tend to act formally. When we dress casually, we act casually. Our goal is to connect with one another and with God!
What do I do when I get there?
Just look for our friendly Parking Team to direct you as you enter the parking lot. We even have front-row parking spots for first-time guests.
Our Welcome team members will be happy to answer any questions during your visit to WBCC. Welcome desks are located inside the front and rear entrances. Please introduce yourself so that we may assist you.
What about my kids?
Our children's ministry (Kids on the Rock) provides a caring, exciting age-appropriate experience for infants, toddlers, and kids through sixth grade. This allows you to get the most from your experience at WBCC while your child is receiving high levels of care, attention, teaching - and fun! Everyone who works in our kids ministries is a trusted member of a WBCC Community Group. They are well known by us and well qualified to be with your children.
Will I have to say anything, give anything, or be singled out?
At WBCC you will never be put on the spot, singled-out, or embarrassed. Guests won't be asked to participate in the offering. Our hope is that you'll let the service be our gift to you and that you'll know we're here for you! We will ask you to complete a Welcome Card along with every other worshipper. But don't worry, no one will visit you (unless you ask us to). We will send you some information in the mail about the church family.
What happens when the service is over?
After the service, you’ll have plenty of time to find the answers to any questions, or to pray with a member of our Altar Ministry for any special needs.
If there is anything we can do to make your time at Western Branch Community Church more comfortable, please speak to a member of our Welcome Team, a Community Group Leader or a Section Pastor.
