Our Vision:
To become a loving community of fruitfully-mature followers of Jesus Christ sharing the Good News with the world.
Our Mission:
Connect with God and Others
Grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Jesus
Serve Others While Being Served
Lead Others to Connect, Grow, and Serve
We are a Community-Based Church:
We believe it is God's intention for the Christian life to be lived in community with other members of the church which form Christ's Body (Ephesians 1:20-23, Hebrews 10:25, Proverbs 27:17). We believe God established the church as the institution through which His wisdom is shown (Ephesians 3:10), and in which His spirit dwells (Ephesians 2:19-22).
Our Core Values:
C - Contemporary Worship
We offer a style of worship that is current, relevant and designed to lead all people to recognize who God is, and give Him the honor He is due.
O - Open Acceptance
We offer friendliness and openness based on unconditional love. This is a place to come as you are and grow.
M - Multiple Small Groups
We offer a church structure designed after the First Century Christian Church, i.e. they met together in the Temple Courts to worship God and in one another’s homes for fellowship, encouragement, and to reach out to others.
M - Ministry is about People
We believe for ministry to be effective, it must be personal. As a result, we structure ourselves so as to facilitate service on the most intimate levels possible. Our goal is to connect people to people, not people to programs.
U- Unity in Essentials
We offer solid Biblical teaching on the essential elements of the Christian faith. But when there are godly people on both sides of an issue, we offer love rather than rigid positions.
N - Needs Based Approach
We constantly evaluate everything we do on the basis of whether it is effectively meeting a valid need.
I - Interest in Building People before Facilities
We place emphasis on meeting people's needs ahead of concern for concrete and steel. People go into eternity, buildings don’t!
T - Target and Purpose Clearly Defined
WBCC is not about gathering a crowd, it is about growing God’s kingdom. Our commitment is to lead people to Christ, help them to grow up in Christ, and then to serve others as Christ served.
Y - Yielded to One Another
WBCC is committed to a teamwork approach to life and ministry. We believe that every follower of Christ is inter-dependant with the other members of the Body of Christ. Therefore, maturing in our faith includes learning to work together.
